Open Mat Practice

Predominantly randori and newaza training for experienced judo players who want to get in shape and enjoy the Olympic sport of judo. For yudansha and brown belts from all judo clubs.

We welcome all black belts and advanced players who are comfortable with randori from any judo club in the world.

Open Mat practice is held three times a week: Monday and Wednesday evenings as well as Saturday mornings. 

Mondays        6:00-7:30pm

Wednesdays  7:30-9:00pm

Saturdays       9:00-11:00am

For security purposes, we currently do not offer online registration. Please download and complete the forms and bring them to the dojo to sign up.

Newaza Randori

We are required by regulation to allow only judo players with United States Judo Federation (USJF) or United States Judo Association (USJA) onto the mat. Annual USJF membership is $70.

Tachiwaza Randori

We offer free trial practices for first-time visitors with national membership. Drop-in practice fees are $15 per practice for black belts and $20 for non-black belts. 

Become a member and practice as many times as you want for the same monthly fee. The $150 monthly membership is currently only $50 for black belts and members of other judo clubs. Non black belts may join Honolulu Judo Club for $75 and access all HJC classes including opportunities for promotion.
